Fifteen years on the market, 400 tons of coffee sold, 1440 repaired coffee machines. How did it all start?

At the beginning of the New Year, we tend to look back to the previous year and evaluate it. What we have done, what we should improve, how we should educate ourselves, remember pleasant experiences. When we looked back this year, we found that we were old. Thank God. Being on the market for 15 years, selling 400 tons of coffee, repairing 1,440 coffee machines and carrying out 4,500 service interventions is, despite all modesty, a respectable performance. In the beginning, however, there was nothing to suggest that. Why?

We turned the disadvantage into an advantage by

Only few can afford a big start of business, nor were we the exception. Company Eurosam was founded in 2005 by distributing Tchibo coffee to restaurants, hotels, and catering providers. But there were also coffee machines. We soon realize – when the device needed repair, we had to bring it to the Czech Republic, leave it there, wait, pay, bring back. Except all of that it took too much time and it was not the cheapest thing, to be honest. Quite a disadvantage for the beginning.

What was the solution to this problem? We decided, perhaps, to take a bold step – we set up our own coffee machine repair workshop. We began to disassemble, clean, repair, weld, manufacture our spare parts, and sometimes we even dreamed about it. And today? Today, we repair any coffee machine from a hotel, guesthouse or restaurant in-house. And we still dream about them from time to time. Over the last 15 years, we have repaired over 1,440 machines, practiced patience in 600 refurbishments, and looked for the cause of the failure at 4,500 service interventions. Was it worth it? Definitely. But we went further.

We have created our philosophy of 5 elements

We wanted to know as much about coffee as possible, even everything. As information wrapped upon us like a snowball, there were companies that we recognized and longed to learn from them. Who to learn from, if not from the best in the business? We have become an official distributor of beautiful Dutch coffee machines Kees van der Westen, we have the honour of representing the King of grinders Mahlkönig, and we continue to cooperate with Tchibo. Maybe working with the best has helped us discover the secret of a perfect espresso – the King of coffee drinks.

And where is the secret hiding? Our company philosophy is focused on these five elements: water, coffee, grinder, machine, person.

Because of successfully implementing our five elements philosophy into practice, we spread the idea that first water needs the right quality and hardness, that can be reached by using Brita filters, Eurosam is the official distributor. Adequately collected, selected, roasted, packaged and stored coffee is an integral part. There must also be a quality, but especially optimally adjusted and regularly cleaned coffee machine. A good grinder that crushes coffee does not burn it with the appropriate grinding thickness set, which is also part of our philosophy. Finally, the most important thing: a trained person who enjoys work with coffee is precise and loves it. If these five elements come together, the path to espresso that will shoot you to the stars is secured.

We train, save, improve

Making good espresso is a little bit of science and quite an art. We wanted as many people as possible to do it, and that was why we founded espressophile lab. It is the place where we explain, show, test and above all, teach how to make appropriate coffee as it should be. Anyone interested. You can also see exhibited historical coffee machines – Faema-lambro, Victoria Arduino-Venus bar, Gaggia-America.  Those old coffee machines we managed to save from cellars, garages and lofts. In our workshop, we breathed new life into them. Each one is fully functional.

Love of coffee can take many forms, and this is what ours looks like. We admit that over the 15 years we have gone through everything, once it was a perfect, sometimes not. What is essential, however, is that we have never given up on ourselves. It is an honour for us that Eurosam may have been one and a half decades in shaping the extraordinary coffee community that has grown in Slovakia. However, it is also a form of commitment for us not to stop and further improve. Thank you for continually inspiring us to do this. Thanks to you, we are old and increasingly in love with coffee.
